Specifically used for detection of defects in ball-race and roller bearings the Envelope Analysis function is a sensitive indicator of defects and can predict the location of developing faults. Time based condition monitoring of this data together with overall levels can also predict failure time and hence assist in maintenance scheduling. In a production environment Envelope Analysis is also an ideal quality control tool.
