Thermocouple and Voltage Measurements

The Coda data acquisition software platform supports the LXI-based EX1000A/16A/32A/48A thermocouple and voltage measurement instruments made by VTI Instruments. to address the most demanding distributed measurement applications in one easy-to-use package. LXI is an instrumentation platform based on industry standard Ethernet technology designed to provide modularity, flexibility and performance to small- and medium-sized systems.

The high-density, compact and scalable modules provide superior measurement accuracy and repeatability thanks to fully integrated signal conditioning, advanced cold junction compensation (CJC) and complete end-to-end self-calibration. The EX10xxA family of instruments is ideal for distributed measurements throughout your facility – reducing cable and installation expense. Installation and set-up has never been easier: Simply plug-in a standard network cable and start taking a measurement. Multiple devices, including existing VXIbus instrumentation, are easily integrated and synchronized via a trigger bus.

The extreme measurement precision is achieved by end-to-end calibration where a highly accurate calibration source provides reference signals that are applied prior to analog filtering and gain circuits to compensate for drift, aging or temperature variations. The system accepts all standard thermocouple types including J, K, T, E, S, B, R, N.

The Coda software allows you to configure measurement set-ups with hundreds of channels within a very short time and to handle these high-channel count applications safely and efficiently. Key features include client/server architecture, SQL data base for parameter management, automatic frontend identification, real-time analysis of virtual channels using mathematical functions, alarm functions with user-definable alarm actions for every channel, data replay and data export into common file formats.
