m+p international successfully completed a project to establish secure, remote network integration for vibration control and analysis at the Y-12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The computer on which the tests and analyses are performed has no local hard drive, but will be booted via the network. All data such as test set-ups and results will be transmitted in encrypted form and saved on a central remote computer.
This application fully benefits from the modular design of the used VXIbus platform: The VibControl vibration control software and the SmartOffice analysis and reporting software run in parallel on the VXI measuring front-end, thus saving money and space.

Lotus Cars, Norwich/England, recently awarded m+p international UK a contract for a Pass-by-Noise measurement system which is developed in association with the customer.
The ever-increasing noise emission standards require the automotive industry to do complex vehicle exterior noise tests.
m+p international's Pass-by-Noise system efficiently supports the designers when doing their testing job. One man - the driver - can perform the complete pass-by-noise test within the test vehicle, thus saving time and money. The high-quality data is available in car analysis or can be post-processed in the lab. The Pass-by-Noise solution uses the complete analysis suite of m+p international's SmartOffice signal analysis platform. The integrated intelligent wizards allow quick and safe set-up and simple trigger setting. Other features include automatic checks on entry speed and car position, continuous wireless monitoring of speed, position and acceleration as well as engine speed tacho input.

The comprehensive reporting tools include a copy&paste function into ActiveX compliant applications such as MS Word or Powerpoint, a Visual Basic-compatible programming language to automate repetitive tasks, a MATLAB connection and a calculator allowing to perform a number of standard mathematical operations.

The Pass-by-Noise system meets requirements of ECE 51.02 & draft amendment to regulation 51, the sound level meters are in accordance with ICE 61672-1.

To meet the rapidly growing demands on the Asia-Pacific market, m+p international will open an office in Singapore on April 1st to market our vibration and acoustic test systems as well as our products for data acquisition and signal analysis. In the past, m+p international cooperated exclusively with representatives in these sales regions.

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. Jie Qiang Woo will be our Asia-Pacific Business Development Manager. Mr. Woo has over 18 years of experience in business development, sales and marketing and worked for Wang Computers and Schlumberger/Solartron for many years.

The new organization will help us to build a close cooperation with our customers in these regions, one of the key objectives of m+p international's company philosophy. In addition, it allows us to efficiently support our local representatives.
