1. Release of SmartOffice 2.4

SmartOffice is m+p international's solution for noise and vibration measurement, analysis and reporting. It is scalable and offers modules for FFT, modal, rotate and octave analyses. For user flexibility, the decision regarding acquisition hardware was kept open to allow interfaces with National Instruments, VXI Technology, Bustec and Teac.
Within one application, SmartOffice allows you to import data from more than 20 different standard N&V formats, do real-time data acquisition, analyse results and create reports – in the field, in the lab and in the office.

Revision 2.4 contains very useful enhancements, for example:

  • Replay of time domain data allowing the user to see a time replay of measured data on a structure.
  • Database featuring all transducer calibration values (Excel spreadsheet).
  • Rotating machinery acquisitions reading RPM data from analog input channel or hardware tacho. Supported hardware: National Instruments 66xx and 67xx boards, Bustec.
  • New 2D viewer with calculations, extra cursor values (RMS, Q, Diff), SeektoMax function.
  • Extended Calculator: Support of block mode operation on time data which results in a quick post-processing functionality for many common FFT-based functions like PSD and FRF calculations.
  • Support of output channels sending out signals synchronously with the input measurement; supported output signals for National Instruments 67xx boards are: Sine, Random, Triangle, Square and DC.
  • Import of all measurements coming from the m+p international VibControl vibration control systems.

2. Time Domain Recording for Vibration and Acoustic Control

More and more customers and analysts alike are requesting both the original time data and processed data. m+p international’s vibration control systems such as the VCP_PC, VibPilot, VibRunner and VibExec now support Time Domain Recording while running any vibration or acoustic control mode. Also known as digital through-put, the original gap-free time history data can be very valuable for post-test analysis and historical archiving reasons. Now with the simple addition of a PCI plug-in card and m+p’s SmartOffice Through-Put Wizard, software module up to eight, sixteen, twenty-four, thirty-two channels and beyond can be recorded to disk at rates to 102.4 kHz sampling without compromising control. SmartOffice’s Advanced Data Reduction Wizards for Random, Sine and Shock allow overlap processing, blocksizes over 32,768, different windowing and averaging techniques for Random; overall level, harmonic analysis and COLA spline fit for high accuracy Sine analysis and in Shock up to 1/24th Octave analysis, primary, residual, positive and negative SRS, signal pre-conditioning and automated processing with multiple damping estimates. Data can be analyzed locally or if the control system is tied up, on a remote PC.

If something fails you’ll never miss having the snapshot of data you need...

Similar to m+p’s Vibco software the SmartOffice Through-Put and Advanced Data Reduction Wizards run in Microsoft Windows NT/2000 or XP environment with an intelligent wizard providing safe, simple and efficient user guidance. An e-Reporter offers many convenient reporting features, for instance, you can copy and paste all obtained graphical results into ActiveX compliant applications such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for richer and more comprehensive reports. SmartOffice is scalable and supports modules for Modal and Advanced Modal Analysis, Acoustic Analysis, Rotating Machinery Analysis along with an Advanced Post Processing Wizard. Repetitive tasks can be automated using a Visual Basic-compatible programming language. The software package also includes a step-by-step approach to create a geometry model of the unit under test for operating deflection shape analysis.

SmartOffice supports National Instruments PCI-4472 and PXI-4472 8-channel dynamic signal acquisition devices. The input channels of these models simultaneously digitize input signals over a bandwidth from DC to 45 kHz. Other features of the NI 4472: 24-bit resolution, 120 dB dynamic range, 102.4 kS/s maximum sampling rate, 45 kHz alias-free bandwidth, ± 10 V input signal range, AC/DC coupling, ICP® conditioning - software configurable.

3. ACON Vehicle Canister Preconditioning with Useful Enhancements

Our ACON system for automated vehicle canister preconditioning is used by the automotive industry, test facilities and the manufacturers of carbon canisters. The vehicle canisters will be automatically preconditioned, i.e. purged and loaded, to prepare them for the subsequent HC emission measurements (SHED tests) according to CARB/EPA.

We work closely with our customers and therefore identify new test and measurement requirements early.
ACON now offers powerful enhancements you really benefit from in your daily work:

  • Controlled fuel loading
à Benefit: Direct comparison of the test results
  • Canister breakthrough with FID analyser and Mini-SHED
à Benefit: No influence of steam
à Benefit: Use of the m+p international SHEDcontrol automation system including a Mini-SHED und an economical FID analyser
  • Remote maintenance, remote control, several self-tests, error message via mobile phone (SMS), onsite calibration
à Benefit: Safe testing, maximum flexibility
  • Integrated design, revolutionary miniaturization
à Benefit: Saving of space, saving of costs, easier transportation, extended applications

4. m+p international Certified to ISO 9001:2000

m+p international proudly announces that the company has been certified to ISO 9001:2000. The certification is applicable to development and sales of systems, software and tests stands for vibration control, signal analysis, process monitoring and emission testing.

The ISO 9001:2000 quality management system will lead to a more systematic management of quality, thus ensuring the basic conditions to make high-quality products and services possible. With this ISO 9001:2000 quality process, m+p international expects lower costs, increased customer satisfaction, stronger market performance and continual improvement.
