1. m+p international Offers Unique Investment Protection to MTS Noise and Vibration Customers

MTS Corporation recently announced the closing of their Noise and Vibration Division. Effective immediately, MTS will no longer sell and support I-DEAS Pro and related software products. Many I-DEAS customers are now concerned about the future of their hardware and software. The fact that they invested in an open hardware solution will save them from having to make a quick, unplanned and painful change. VXI-based data acquisition hardware remains in production with new modules being introduced. Service, support and calibration remains readily available.

An open hardware platform supported by a consortium of vendors has been the choice of m+p international since 1996. m+p international provides both off-the shelf noise, vibration and control software, and custom test systems utilizing VXI hardware from multiple vendors.

  • The m+p VibControl Vibration Control and Data Acquisition software for 2 to 256+ input channels is used by many of the leading environmental test laboratories worldwide. It supports all test standards, guarantees reliable true multi-tasking real-time control and offers features such as multi-monitor support, test sequencing and automatic reports to MS Office applications.
  • The m+p SmartOffice is a new Noise & Vibration Analysis software approach that can be used in a matter of minutes to acquire, analyse and report the most complex of data requirements. For noise and vibration acquisition and analysis, modal analysis, impact testing, rotating machinery and pass-by-noise measurements.

MTS I-DEAS customers now benefit from m+p international’s open software/hardware concept. They can upgrade their system to our reliable, state-of-the-art software solutions, while keeping their existing VXI data acquisition hardware in operation. Why spending more money than necessary?

2. Rugged Portable Analysers

SmartOffice is m+p international’s versatile platform for noise and vibration measurement, analysis and reporting. With the ToughAcq and FlexAcq, we now offer two fully integrated rugged portable analysers using our powerful SmartOffice analysis suite of software for everything from basic FFT analysis to full modal and rotating machinery analysis.

The ToughAcq with between 4 and 16 channels is metal cased, with laptop style screen and keyboard. Vibration and shock tested to MIL-STD 810F, with drop protection from a 1 m drop to concrete. IP54 splash rating means it can even operate safely in the rain.

The FlexAcq can provide up to 48 channels fully integrated in its rugged chassis, weighing from just 8 kg fully inclusive of screen and keyboard.

These systems are perfect for all portable applications whether they require harsh environment use or just plenty of transport from one site to another.

3. VibUtil for Automated Vibration Testing

With the VibUtil add-on module, the m+p VibControl vibration control and analysis system offers a versatile tool for automating vibration tests. VibUtil easily combines individual vibration tests of identical or different test modes in any complexity of nested loops. It allows unattended testing with full test control anywhere via email and mobile phone (SMS text message).

VibUtil can be flexibly extended to include eight digital input channels and eight digital output channels which provide links to external equipment such as environmental chambers for combined envionmental testing.
