| 1. One-Day Seminar - Essential Knowledge for Vibration Test Engineers | |||||||
|
June 6, 2005,
The one-day Basic Vibration Seminar will cover several core areas to provide a refresher for the more experienced or give a solid grounding for those new to Vibration Shaker testing or Vibration Test analysis. Presented by experts from m+p international and Dynamic Solutions, a provider of shakers, fixtures, etc., it will also be a good day for networking and sharing your experiences and getting answers to specific problems.
Topics: Shaker Components – Shaker Characteristics – Amplifiers – Vibration Fixtures – Accelerometers – Vibration Controllers – Testing Applications – Sizing a Shaker – Shaker Selection Worksheet – System Demonstration
The seminar will be sponsored by our representative Schober & Assoc. The seminar fee will be $ 275.00 per person, this includes notes, continental breakfast and luncheon.
Please fill out the booking form and return to Schober & Associates, Inc., 2550 Oakley Park Road # 300, Walled Lake, MI 48390-1631. Or fax to: 248/926-6006. Attn: Debbie. |

| 2. Saturn Mission Helped by m+p international's Force Limiting | |||||||
|
In the last few months you definitely saw and read a lot about Cassini-Huygens, the joint NASA/ESA/ASI mission to Saturn and its moons. The NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, utilized m+p international's force limiting vibration control system for successful testing of the Cassini Huygens spacecraft. Limiting the shaker force simulates the mechanical impedence of the flight-mounting configuration and minimizes over-testing at test item resonances. In his article, Terry Scharton from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory describes the variety of sophisticated testing undertaken on the Cassini Huygens spacecraft. As well as a wealth of technical details there are some great pictures of the testing in progress. Related links: |

| 3. Improving Product Life Using Time Recording | |||||||
|
m+p international's Richard Lax of the U.K. presented a paper at the
SEE conference on the "In's and Out's of Using Time Replication to
Improve Product Life". It looks at the reasons for using field recorded
data for durability testing, a range of successful applications and some
of the practicalities of designing and implementing a test plan. |
